Our growing little boy, Isaac, is 6 years old today. He is a fun boy to have around and we love him a ton. He is learning alot in kindergarten this year and is bound and determined to learn to read like his brother. We call him our eagle eye because he notices everything. He sees things way before we do many times. He is also a memory bank. Don't even think of promising something and forget about it because he will remember. He also remembers things you would think a 6 year old could not remember, but he does. He is also a great little hockey player and loves the sport. We are so proud of him!Wednesday, February 11, 2009

My boys
the boys got these stuffed animals from my brother and his wife when the boys were born. they are a huge hit in our big house and the have them in our family room. They like to lay on the floor and use the animals as pillows. My brother also gave them a smaller matching animal. This is Declan with his dog and puppy. Finally pictures of the house
Okay, there are pictures of the entire house on my blog. Yea me! It has been very busy around here trying to keep up the boys and their activities, unpack in the new house, and decorating. Then add the holidays into that whole mix. But I got the pictures taken of a clean house and they are officially on the blog. Enjoy! Leave comments and let me know what you like or dislike. I would love to read them.

Basement Level of House
The stairs that lead down to the basement level. This is a cat, Tiger.
This desk was Jeff's grandparents and it is on the wall on the bottom of the stairs.

This is one of the picture posters we have above the desk. We had these taken at the entrance to the Central Lakes Trail under hwy. 210 for those that live around here.
We had Strom Studio take the pictures for us. A friend and I saw on that Eric had done one of baseball kids and we thought it would be fun to have one taken of hockey kids. We got a few friends together with their boys and did the group. They turned out really cool for how cold it was that day. It was 40 mile an hour winds and very cold.
The family room from standing on the stairs. You can see the patio doors that lead to the patio.
The fireplace on the family room side and our TV.
The gold wall you see will eventually be a collage of family pictures. Jeff had the hanging system made just like we have for our maps. It is painted and ready to be hung up, so I will take more pictures of that when we get it up. You can see the doorway on the left that leads to the game room.
here is the hallway that leads to the game room on the right and the bathroom on this level. This is also our wet bar with a mini fridge at the end of the countertop.
This is electrical equipment that we need to touch for our family room. The rest of the house sound system equipment is behind this wall under the stairs. We have control panels spread through the house for XM radio, regular radio, and we can plug in an i-pod in many rooms. We have been using the sound system all the time and it was well worth the tons of money it cost.
This is the game room. We have all the board games and their Wii that Santa brought in here.
We were also able to get them a bubble hockey game on clearance for their room. Yes, you are seeing a theme with our kids. Hockey, hockey, hockey. They love the sport and cannot get enough of it.
Here is the rest of the bathroom you saw in the hallway. The door to the right is a closet and to the left leads under the stairs for the sound equipment stuff.

We had them make shelves for us for our DVDs and CDs. Follow this to the left for the stuff.

Our sound system guy spent many hours in this area connecting these wires. They are all labeled and I think only he knows what goes to what.
It kills me all the wiring it takes though. When he quoted the wiring for the house, he said it will take 2 miles of wiring. CRAZY!
Back to the family room TV. The first doorway is the wine sitting room and the 2nd doorway is my craft room.
Here is the sitting room. You can see the wine cellar door. The picture on the wall was given to us by the friends who were here on Super Bowl Sunday. We absolutely love it and it matches the room perfectly. Yes, the furniture is the same as the family room. If we ever need more seating, then we can move these recliners into the family room.
Other side of the room.
close-up of the fireplace
Jeff found these on a restoration website and we just had to put them in the wine cellar sitting room. We planned the mantel around them.
This was from the same website.
The wine cellar. Jeff is having his wine racks welded as I am typing. yes, they are also made out of steel. What else!
We are using these book shelves for glasses for right now.
This is plumbing for a sink that will be part of a table eventually. We will have the table made.
Here are the lights we have in the wine cellar.
This is my messy scrapbooking room that I absolutely love. I was at a day retreat a week ago and haven't unpacked from it yet. But I can leave it all in my room and not in my dining room like I used to. Main Floor of House
I am standing on the stairs to the upper level taking this pictures of the kitchen counters and island.
More of the kitchen with our cat, Dutchess helping me.
our window shelves with the lights behind them. We decided to go with shelves instead of cabinets to make things more open and to use the light from the window.
our fridge with the drawer freezer then a small cabiner and drawer. Then the next on is the dishwasher. I was worried about kids and fingerprints on stainless steel appliances, so we chose to go with cabinet panel appliances here.
the cooktop is stainless, but fingerprints won't be much of an issue here. Isaac is home from school sick with pneumonia and helping me take pictures. yes, he is better. he was put on antibiotics yesterday and his fevers are finally gone. He will go back to school tomorrow for his birthday.
We have to bar stools where Isaac is sitting on the countertop. Our fish tank will be relocated as soon as I order a stand for it. Our cat, Trouble seems to think she can sit up there and watch the fish. I disagree and I cannot keep her off there. So, we will move the fish tank off the countertop.
Our table that we use most of the time and the fireplace. You can see the patio doors out to the deck as well.
To the left of the cabinet panel fridge is the doorway to the pantry. We made a full room pantry. We have our stacked ovens (black) in here. I really like the heat from the ovens in the pantry and not heating up the kitchen. I am really glad we did it this way. We sort of ran out of wall space in the kitchen when planning and they ended up in the pantry. It works well because the cooktop is right around the corner..jpg)
This is our deep freeze and drink fridge. I so love not going down to the basement to get meat for supper. I also love having food in the fridge in the kitchen and drink in another fridge. We don't have a completely stuffed full refridgerator anymore.
These are the food storage or extra dishes storage cabinets. There are tall ones on the other side of the room just like these. I just could not get a good view of it for a picture. I still have open space in cabinets.
our table with the patio doors, you can see the railing to the stairs on the left. The doorway with red paint on the right is the dining room.
this is looking at the walk way from a different angle. Our main front door and the living room to the left. You can see a doorway just past the stairs railing and that leads to the guest bathroom and guest bedroom.
Here is the living room again.
guest bathroom. We found this lighthouse themed stuff at Wal-mart..jpg)

guest bedroom. I have another comforter for the bed, I just have to find a cover for it before I put it out on the bed. These lamps are for the furniture in the living room. We just don't need them in there right now. We have 2 of the end tables for that set in our family room in the basement.
hallway to the mudroom
the door you see lead to the garage
the locker system we had built. The kids keep their coats, backpacks and stuff in them and it has been very nice. there is a closet to the right for extra coats and shoes.
the door to the garage is to the right of this picture. This 3/4 bathroom was an after thought, but handy. It will be nice when kids are outside playing and they only have to get this floor dirty and not walk through the whole house to the guest bathroom.
.jpg)

you see the lockers to the left and on the other side of the extra closet is our mini laundry area for the main floor and a utility sink. I had a friend tell me she wished she would have put a small until on her main floor because they also had their main unit on the upper level. It is quite handy for snowsuits, hockey gear, etc.
I didn't put pictures of the library or office again because I have them in a post a week or so ago. They are on the other side of the fireplace by the table we use most of the time in the kitchen.
