When you have a father that hunts and fishes for most of my life, it is bound to happen that he will want to teach your kids how to do it. Well, we have been fishing for a while, but Jeff and I would not allow the guns. I am not sure we have actually allowed it yet, but I agreed to let Dad teach them this day. They blew up balloons and stapled them to a board so they could pop balloons with the shots.
Here is Declan shooting a BB gun.
Isaac had a real hard time with the BB gun because he is left eye dominant and could not aim very easily. We didn't know this until now.
Isaac is checking out what he popped.
Since he could not do the BB gun, Grandpa being the ultimate pleaser got out the bird shot hand gun for Isaac to use. He did much better and popped a lot of balloons.
Declan also tried the hand gun. It scares me that they had fun with them, but I guess I have to let my kids grow up. I had to learn how to shoot guns when I was old enough too. I refused to shoot any animals, but I did learn how to shoot and all the safety stuff.
