Footings Day 3

When you have big piles of clay and black dirt, you also have 2 boys who cannot resist them. We let them climb on the piles and get as dirty as they wanted, and they loved every minute of it.

The boys and I are on top of a clay pile watching the guys fill the footings with concrete. Jeff is behind us on the pile taking this picture.
They empty the concrete truck into the truck below with this really long tube attached to it. The concrete goes up the tube and comes out of the black tube you see above. There is a guy with controls that moves the long arm where ever they want and then they fill the forms. It was kind of neat watching them do this. It felt weird to just sit on top of a clay pile and watch 8 men working on my house. I felt like I should be doing something to help, but Jeff straightened me out quickly. We are paying them to do this.
