Roof is on house

June 6th- The roof is done on our house, well sort of. They have the taping done and they are ready to start shingles on Monday. We have had lots of people ask us why the red color on the roof and the green on the walls. We now know the answer. The green coating on the plywood removes the need for tyvac on the walls before the siding. The red coating on the roof removes the need to tar paper before you put the shingles on. How do they prevent leaks in the seams both of our fathers asked. The black tape you see on the roof right now is a special tape for the seams to stop the leaks. I feel so smart now! I guess builders have been using this method down south for a couple years and now they are starting to use it up here in North Country.
A side view of the house with the garage.
It was a misty rain on the 6th, but you can see the back side of the house.

I had to throw this picture in here because we notice our contractor put up his sign last week.
